Round the Island Race

This really is a spectacular event with almost 1400 yachts taking part. Seeing the forest of masts on the start line as the sun rises, and with so many boats all in one place, is simply awesome and is an experience that everyone who sails should have.

We will be entering Windcatcher, our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 389 based in Lymington & Preferita, our Salona 380 based in Swanwick. Members will have the opportunity to be involved with the sailing as much or as little as they wish.  Our Chief Instructor & one of our other Yachtmaster Instructors will be skippering and our members will have a practice day on the Friday, getting to know the ropes, asymmetric, etc., with a group dinner in the evening, followed by the race on the Saturday.
