The Hunter Legend 33 Twin Keel is a comfortable cruising yacht, which feels bigger than she is with more internal height and volume than you would expect in a 33 footer.
The cockpit design has been called “ideal” by many owners, referring to the space, layout and placement of controls. Stern rail seats are free of rigging obstructions and securely fixed to the arch for a safe and comfortable view within arms reach of the wheel, traveller and jib sheets.
The interior is roomy and bright with a rich “cherry” interior and open floor plan, created by placement of the mast compression post forward of the main bulkhead. 6’2” headroom, abundant storage space and a compact nav station completes the saloon. She is coded for 6 to category 2 (60 miles offshore) with sleeping accommodation for 6 with a very large master cabin, forepeak cabin and convertible saloon. The Legend receives plenty of natural light and ventilation from the large opening hatches. She is a lot of boat for the size and the quality of build is impressive.
Meerkat has a twin keel, designed to be able to explore the islands, bays, and inlets, with a shallow draft and the ability to dry out safely and easily.
This is perfect for being based in Poole harbour. In-mast roller reefing makes the boat very simple and easy to sail short handed, whilst being a very comfortable and capable cruiser.
Since her arrival in Poole she has on many occasions sailed over to the Channel Islands for long weekends. The Legend’s overhead mainsheet traveller mounted on the proprietary arch ensures that the sheets and other ‘bits’ are kept away from the cockpit area, making for a safer and roomier area.
