Power Boat Training

Enjoy our RYA accredited Powerboat level II training course and safely gain access to a wide range of power vessels

The RYA Powerboat Level II course is an introduction to power-boating. No previous knowledge or experience is required. The aim is to teach you boat handling and seamanship in powerboats and provide you with a qualification that is widely recognized around the world.

Powerboat Level II is designed as a two day course. The syllabus is wide ranging, and during the course we cover many different areas; the main part of the course covers boat handling – everything from close-quarters slow speed manoeuvres to high speed handling, including man overboard, launch and recovery, towing, mooring, anchoring & more besides. In addition we touch on a wide range of theory subjects including buoyage, collision regulations, basic charts and tides, and pilotage giving a very good, broad base of experience for anyone who is keen to develop to a point where they can safely take a motor boat out on their own.

RYA Powerboat Level II is also the minimum requirement for anyone wishing to become a FlexiRIB member, or to bareboat charter (self drive charter).

In addition, the course completion certificate can be commercially endorsed for anyone working on boats who requires a basic commercial boating qualification.
